SUMMARY

Under the authority of the North America Controller, the Controller will provide leadership and coordination of the Onshore Segment in term of financial and accounting aspects. This Segment is divided into three main business Units.  One dedicated controller for each business Unit work under the responsibility of the Onshore Controller. The controllers provide direct support to the Business Unit Operation VP’s.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitor and analyze the monthly segment operating results against budget.
  2. In coordination with the accounting team, prepare monthly financial statements.
  3. Prepare monthly updates of the annual forecast (P&L, Order Intake, Backlog, Manhours).
  4. Create value for the Segment as a business partner to the operations managers and support the need for financial information and analysis.
  5. Work closely with project cost controllers and project managers to provide them assistance for any financial and accounting matters (active participation in PMR sessions).
  6. Accountable for completion of segment information used in quarterly and annual external audit.
  7. Within the Finance group, participate in the development and monitoring of internal controls.
  8. In coordination with the Treasury and Tax teams, responsible for completing financial analysis in the proposal phase of projects (ATT’s).
  9. Responsible to complete the compilation of the segment’s annual budget as well as the three year business plan.
  10. Actively participate as a member of the Oracle implementation team for the Onshore CostPoint  migration to Oracle.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Accounting degree with CPA or equivalent, and 8-10 years of progressive experience towards or preferably including divisional controller role.  Previous experience in a project or engineering company environment is an asset.
  2. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP
  3. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems (Oracle an asset).  Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  4. Possess professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
