Manager, Consolidation & Reporting

Manage 2 accounting professionals and direct IT support resource(s) as applicable to accomplish the following:

· Complete the consolidation of operating results to the top of the Company monthly actual, year end with significant supplemental data, budget, plan and occasional special data collections.

· Consolidate results along alternate hierarchy based on legal entities.

· Prepare monthly executive reporting package (Flash). Prepare and distribute the financial performance summary of operations package.

· Maintain FRS infrastructure – changes to chart of accounts, entity reporting hierarchies for at least two roll ups (operational and legal entity), user access (security), consolidation process control, programming of system rules for systems generated data and user supplied data validation, user web forms, computer aided data loading programs, and, testing and implementing system software patches and new releases.

· Maintain standard report shells and updates as needed in response to system infrastructure or software changes.

  • FRS database management to restate and reconsolidate history for accounting and organizational changes.
  • Provide training for the use of FRS in both individual and group settings as users turnover.
  • Support month end close and reporting, budget and plan roll ups and reporting as needed (FRS hotline including one 24 hour/day during month end and year end.
  • Analyze tax and equity accounts at year end to determine the appropriate close out of taxes and earnings to headquarter reporting units within each legal entity. Report close out entries to affected entities and monitor subsequent reporting to assure that the effect of close outs are properly reported.

· Prepare internal to external transitional financial statements, to include income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, business segments and related exhibits in formats required to support quarterly earnings releases and 10Q, and, annual report/10K.

· Calculate earnings per share monthly. Analyze the dilution effect of stock options, stock awards and other activity affecting the capitalization of the company and share basis for earnings per share.

· Monitor equity reporting to include resolution of issues arising from acquisitions, divestitures and other changes in legal entity structure and internal ownership.

· Analyze unbalanced inter-company activity to alert affected operations and monitor resolution.

· Maintain, in collaboration with the Corporate Law and Tax Departments, a data set of subsidiary and affiliate entities.

· Prepare and support others who prepare annual report footnotes and back-up book schedules.

· Gather data and prepare data for the US Census for various annual and quarterly reports. Coordinate reporting by field operations directly to the Census bureau for certain other annual reports.

· Analyze capital investment in the pre-service (construction in progress) phase and prepare entries to capitalize the appropriate amount of interest.

· Own the domestic fixed asset accounting process and support domestic operations use of the SAP Asset Manager. Support the fixed asset and depreciation reporting required for US income tax compliance.

· Sample domestic inventory to determine an annual index for inflation to be used in calculation of the annual LIFO provision and ending reserves. This activity includes supervising the reporting by domestic operations of inventory population and sample hits and statistical analysis of the sample data.

· Calculate LIFO provision and reserves for actual, budget, plan and interim updates to estimates.

· Analyze inventory valuation reserves to determine an appropriate adjustment to the reserves based on the historical use of inventory previously written down.
